Kings could move Iafallo if contract talks break down
In Thursday's edition of Insider Trading on TSN, Frank Seravalli mentioned that Los Angeles Kings general manager Rob Blake has started taking calls on pending UFA forward Alex Iafallo, but both sides are also engaged in contract talks.
"We're told that Kings GM Rob Blake for the first time began taking calls on Alex Iafallo judging his availability on the market and it seems like one of those things that's going to go down to the wire," said TSN's Frank Seravalli. "These two sides are going to continue to try to hammer away at an extension."
Iafallo, 27, is currently in the final year of a two-year, $4.85 million contract he signed in July 2019.
The Eden, New York native has spent his entire nearly four-year NHL career after signing with the Kings as an undrafted free agent out of college in 2017. In 264 regular season games, Iafallo has tallied 124 points (50 G, 74 A), 48 penalty minutes, and is a -7. He only has three playoff games under his belt which came in his rookie year where he had 1 goal and was a -1.
