The Vancouver Canucks were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs last night by the Oilers in the past this has led to riots which forced the Vancouver Police to make a statement.

The Vancouver Canucks had their season come to a heartbreaking but anticlimactic ending. Heading into Game 7 against the Edmonton Oilers many fans were hoping for a close game. Instead, the Oilers took control early and never looked back.

The @EdmontonOilers are taking a three-goal lead into the third period of #Game7 thanks to Ryan Nugent-Hopkins! 💪 #StanleyCup

The Vancouver Canucks would make things interesting in the third period with a pair of goals in quick succession. However, that is where the comeback would end as the Edmonton Oilers would win and punch their ticket to the Western Conference Finals.

OILERS ARE HEADING TO THE WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS

After the game, many around the hockey world were worried for the Vancouver Canucks fans. This is because in years past there have been riots in the city of Vancouver after a big loss. One account on X even posted a video claiming riots had begun. However, a statement made by the Vancouver Police Department confirmed the video was not from Vancouver.

We're not sure where you got this video, but this is not in Vancouver tonight.

While it is frustrating for Canucks fans that their team is now out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs the absence of riots is a positive sign. Everyone in the hockey community fully expected riots within the city and the fact that there were none is a great sign for the future of the hockey community in Vancouver.

The Edmonton Oilers will now move on to face the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals. For the Vancouver Canucks the next several months will be focused on getting their stars healthy and reloading for next season.
