Devon Toews mysteriously scratched minutes before puck drop

The Colorado Avalanche are trying to tie their series against the Stars tonight but the deck is stacked against them as star defenseman Devon Toews is out with an illness.

The announcement comes just before puck drop, similar to the news about Valeri Nichuskin dropping. As a result, the Avalanche will be without two of their best players at the most critical time of their season.

Caleb Jones will come into the lineup taking Toews' spot while it appears Nichushkin will be replaced by Jonathan Drouin.

This will surely be a tough challenge for the Avalanche. Be sure to tune in tonight to see if they rally the troops for a win under tough circumstances, or if the Dallas Stars will take a commanding 3-1 series lead.
