The Toronto Maple Leafs have admitted they are looking to make changes this offseason. The biggest one that is expected is a trade involving forward Mitch Marner.
Today a new article written by Maple Leafs Daily has suggested a mock trade that would send Mitch Marner to Philadelphia. The trade would give the Flyers a big offensive boost but would cost a top defensive prospect in Oliver Bonk and veteran forward Travis Konecny.
Assuming the first-round pick was included this would be a big haul of current and future assets for the new look core. This would add a versatile forward in Travis Konecny for their current roster. Oliver Bonk would immediately become the best prospect defenseman in the system for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The first-round pick would likely be used in another trade to bolster the current roster for a Stanley Cup run in 2024-25.
While this trade is just one of the many that has been suggested it would bring a lot of elements needed to the Toronto Maple Leafs for the current and the future. If Brad Treliving gets an offer like this he should certainly consider it.
