Todd McLellan caught boarding plane to new NHL team

As announced on Thursday, the Maple Leafs have fired head coach Sheldon Keefe from his duties after another unsuccessful playoff run with the Blue and White.

With the coaching pursuit underway, former LA Kings coach Todd McLellan was seen boarding a plane to Toronto. Despite him being of Ontario origin, his name has appeared in the candidates for the coach vacancy, which can indicate him being the next head coach of the Maple Leafs.

The early favorite to land the Toronto Maple Leafs head coaching job was Craig Berube. Now it seems the team is considering other options including former Los Angeles Kings head coach Todd McLellan.

Based on these two early candidates it seems the Leafs are leaning towards experienced coaches to help navigate the snake bitten playoff Toronto Maple Leafs.
