The Toronto Maple Leafs once again fell in round one, and it didn't take much time for one of their big rivals to take a massive shot at them.

Just moments after the Bruins eliminated the Toronto Maple Leafs in game seven of their first round battle, Brad Marchand took a shot at his biggest rival in his post-game interview.

A day later, it was Matthew Tkachuk, who helped the Florid Panthers eliminate Toronto in 2023 that decided to take his shot at the Maple Leafs after they failed in the first round once more.

Tkachuk: "Without this coming out too badly, I think we all knew it was probably going to Boston the way that series was going...I think throughout the whole series we were probably expecting they were going to come out and win it one way or another."

By now, it's become very commonplace for opposing fans and teams to take shots at the Maple Leafs, given that they are the biggest market for the NHL, and until they can prove everyone wrong and go on a deep Stanley Cup run, it's safe to say that this will continue.

Now, Tkachuk and the Panthers will look to back up their trash talk as they battle the Bruins in round two, and if they can't defeat Boston, it's safe to say that some Maple Leafs fans will let the star forward know all about it.
