While the Kraken made an impressive playoff run in their second NHL season, their third attempt at the Stanley Cup wasn't quite as successful, as the team missed the playoffs once again. This has resulted in the firing of Head Coach Dave Hakstol who has been with the organization since they entered the NHL, with Emily Kaplan now revealing why the move was made.
There was little publicity around the potential locker room hostility in Seattle with Hakstol in charge, but with the team having limited star power, it makes sense that they wanted to keep their players happy. Seattle are reportedly looking to make Rod Brind'Amour the next Head Coach with his connections to Ron Francis, but it's safe to say that this may not be the last we hear of the Kraken's locker room pulling power.
