This one has a lot of people scratching their heads. In tonight's matchup between Buffalo and Philadelphia, Sabres centre Curtis Lazar got tangled up with Scott Laughton of the Flyers. The end result, in what sure looked like an intentional act, was Lazar flipping Laughton on his head. Lazar looked to be in some pain, which seems inevitable given the circumstances. Despite all of that, there was no call on the play. Here it is:
A lot has been said about inconsistency from the NHL refs over the last few years. I have no idea how no one saw this.
Laughton would go down the tunnel but returned in the second period and appears to be ok.
