Jack Eichel kicked out of game for vicious spear on Kirill Kaprizov
Vegas Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel has been ejected from his team's game against the Minnesota Wild. The ejection comes after Jack Eichel handed out a brutal spear on Minnesota Wild star Kirill Kaprizov.
The play that led to Jack Eichel's ejection came in transition. Kirill Kaprizov was skating up the ice when Jack Eichel came together with him and got his stick into the chest of the Wild star. Then Jack Eichel whipped his stick up and hit Kirill Kaprizov in the face.
The play was eventually stopped and Jack Eichel was given a five-minute penalty for spearing and kicked out of the game. In slow motion, the play looks questionable for an ejection but the officiating crew felt there was enough there to warrant it. Now the Vegas Golden Knights will have to survive the rest of this game without one of their best players.
The Vegas Golden Knights will now wait patiently to see if Jack Eichel faces any other discipline such as a fine or suspension in the coming days.
