Unfortunately for the Boston Bruins, the latest update on prospect Fabian Lysell has him missing significant time after he was injured in a game three days ago.
While he was considered a top bargaining chip at the 2024 NHL trade deadline, Fabian Lysell, drafted 21st overall in 2021, remained with the Boston Bruins organization playing for the Providence Bruins. However, he suffered an injury during a collision with the boards Saturday night.
"This is not good. Fabian Lysell goes into the boards extremely hard and is down. Hellberg immediately waived to the trainers to help out."

A report from Mark Divver of the RinksideRhodeIsland.com states Lysell likely won't be back this season.

"He's gonna miss, probably, significant time, I would imagine. It's disappointing. He was starting to play really well." - Ryan Mougenel, head coach of the Providence Bruins
Fabian Lysell was given high praise by EliteProspects.com the year he was drafted.
"His skating form is nearly perfect, with great posture, depth, and flexibility at the ankles, knees, and hips, giving him straight-line speed and two-step quickness to burn. Lysell spots teammates through layers, and has the deft touch to get them the puck when the time is right. He scans regularly, reloads to support his defencemen, tracks well through the neutral zone, and his work rate never wanes.
It's a tough break for Fabian Lysell, but one he'll have to battle through. He was having an excellent season in the AHL, scoring 15 goals and 50 points in 56 games.
When do you think Fabian Lysell will break into the NHL with the Boston Bruins?
