The Boston Bruins may have taken a loss Friday night to the New York Rangers 6-2, but it was a big night for captain Patrice Bergeron all the same. Bergeron, who scored one of Boston's goals, moved into sole possession of fifth overall on the Bruins' all-time points leaders list, surpassing NHL legend Bobby Orr in the process.

Bergeron, who has spent his entire career in Boston starting in the 2003-2004 season, now has 889 points in his career, one more than Bobby Orr. However, despite being a defenceman, it's worth noting that Orr needed roughly half of the amount of games than Bergeron to reach that mark (yes, Orr was just that good).

Bergeron is now just 11 points away from taking possession of the fourth overall spot in the list, with currently belongs to Rick Middleton (898). The 35-year-old has quite a task ahead of him to hit the top three, though. Those spots belong to Phil Esposito (1012), Johnny Bucyk (1339), and Ray Bourque (1,506).

Not to be outdone, Bergeron's teammate Brad Marchand also hit a milestone of his own Friday night. Marchand had the Bruins' other goal and became just the seventh Boston player to score 300 total goals in the regular season.
