David Savard Accidentally Leaks Why Head Coach Martin St. Louis Left the Team

As time is closing to reach the playoffs, one head coach made an unexpected announcement and is stepping back from the team. Although he has not publicly stated the reasoning, it seems one player let some vital information slip.

Earlier today, the head coach of the Montreal Canadiens Martin St. Louis stated that he would be stepping away from his position indefinitely for family reasons. This would leave Trevor Letowski taking his place for the time being.

While fans were left with a vague statement on coach St. Louis leaving for his family, Canadiens defenseman David Savard accidentally leaked some information regarding this departure. He stated that they would be playing for Martin's son, and wished the best for the family.

Savard likely did not quite understand the impact of what he just shared, given the private nature of the circumstance. However, this was still an incredible gesture by the player.
