If he wants to join an NHL team this season, Phil Kessel has until 3 pm tomorrow to sign a contract. It looks like a deal will happen soon, according to an insider.

Chris Johnston Reveals that Phil Kessel Will Sign a Contract With the Canucks Before the Deadline

Chris Johnston just announced that Kessel is expected to sign with the Canucks before the trade deadline.

"Not trade related, but it sounds like things remain on track for Phil Kessel to sign with the #canucks before tomorrow's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline.

He needs to be on their reserve list by that time in order to be eligible for the Stanley Cup playoffs."
