The Columbus Blue Jackets have some solid up-and-coming talent, with few players in the organization bringing more excitement to the team than forward Kent Johnson.

Kent Johnson done for the remainder of the season

The former top-five pick has now suffered a major setback, with the 21-year old suffering a season-ending injury, a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

NEWS: #CBJ forward Kent Johnson is done for the season with a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

He will undergo surgery later this week.

Johnson became a star at the University of Michigan, forcing the Blue Jackets to draft him with the No. 5 overall pick back in the 2021 NHL Draft, and he's shown flashes of why the team used that pick on him.

Despite his promise however, Johnson played in just 42 games this season, tallying 6 goals and 10 assists over that time, so the Blue Jackets will look to make some major upgrades this summer and bring him back in a big way for the 2024-25 campaign.
