On Sunday, the Chicago Blackhawks defeated their Original Six rivals the Detroit Red Wings by a score of 6 to 2. In the win, rookie forward Pius Suter scored not only his first career goal, but he finished the game with a hat trick.
In doing so, Suter became the first Blackhawk to record a hat trick within the first six games of their career since Art Somers scored three in his fourth career game all the way back on November 21st, 1929.

Suter, 24, went undrafted and signed with the Chicago Blackhawks as a free agent in July 2019. He's spent the past five years playing in Switzerland's top division, National League, for the ZSC Lions.
In 216 regular season National League games, Suter has recorded 173 points (83 G, 90 A), 82 penalty minutes, and was a +62. In 34 career playoff games, he tallied 18 points (9 G, 9 A), 12 penalty minutes, and was a -2.
Suter had an incredible 2019-20 season prior to the season being cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. He led the NL in points with 53 (30 G, 23 A), and plus/minus (+23). For his efforts, Suter was named National League MVP, and Best Forward.
It's still very early, but it seems like the Blackhawks have a solid player in Suter. Adding him to their young group of Kirby Dach, Alex DeBrincat, Dylan Strome, Philipp Kurashev, and Adam Boqvist will prove to be vital going into the future.
Chicago will be back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Nashville to take on the Predators.
