Long-Term Suspension Likely for Brendan Gallagher After Disgusting Dirty Hit
The Montréal Canadiens have been rebuilding for the past couple of seasons, but the events of tonight's game are unacceptable regardless of the current standings.
Gallagher Ejected After Dirty Hit On Pelech
You never want to see players get hurt in the NHL, but at the end of the day, it is the most physical league in the world. Players, however, are responsible for their actions, and when they cross the line, there are consequences for their actions.
"Brendan Gallagher receives a five-minute major and game misconduct for an illegal check to the head on Adam Pelech."
Gallagher clearly sticks his elbow up and makes contact with Pelech's head. This contact was avoidable and the hit itself was unnecessary.
"Brendan Gallagher with a gross hit tonight. So dangerous."
It is apparent that Gallagher will face suspension over this incident, the only question that remains is how long that will last.
