We have seen some unusual schedule changes in the NHL recently as the league moves games around to accommodate the NFL playoffs. Now yet another game has been moved for the same reason.

Red Wings Lightning Game Rescheduled To Accommodate Lions And Buccaneers

Next Sunday the Lightning are scheduled to play the Red Wings in Detroit. The game was originally set for 7PM EST but the NHL has since moved up the start time to 5PM EST as the Detroit Lions of the NFL are set to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of the playoffs.

According to the NHL media site, the start time for #Bolts at Red Wings this Sunday (1/21) has been rescheduled from 5 p.m. ET to 7 p.m. ET.

The move makes sense as the Lions will likely have a sell-out crowd in just their second home playoff game in Detroit since 1994. The team is coming off their first playoff victory at home or on the road since 1992. As such, Detroit sports fans will be eager to support their football team. Extra supportive fans may even have time to catch both games thanks to this schedule change.
