Brandon Yip, who played just over 170 games in the NHL, has received a lengthy suspension from the Finnish Elite League after an awful hit to the head of Oliver Bohm during a game on Friday between Jukurit Mikkeli and TPS Turku. Yip, who suited up in the NHL for Colorado, Nashville and Phoenix, was initially given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for the play. The league has now announced he will sit for five games.
Yip's hit on Bohm, which came mid-way through the second period, was directly to the head. Bohm would leave the game immediately and has yet to return to playing. Check it out:

While the Finnish Elite League noted that Yip has no previous suspension history in that country, it is not Yip's first hockey-related punishment. While playing for Boston University as a junior, Yip received a suspension from the team for "breaking team rules." The exact reason was never given. Yip was suspended for three games by the KHL in 2017 for this play:

He received another two-game suspension by the KHL in the same year for a tripping play that led to an injury.
Yip had already missed one game while waiting for the disciplinary committee's ruling. He will now sit out the next four.
