The Edmonton Oilers were in New Jersey last night to face the Devils, with the team holding Pride Night festivities before the game. One of the NHL's new rules says players should not be wearing jerseys, tape, or anything else supporting a cause during warmups. Connor McDavid clearly doesn't care.

As mentioned earlier, other players have defied the new rules by sporting Pride tape in warmups before games. However, McDavid doing it puts a whole new spin on it. If the highest-profile player in the league isn't punished for his open resistance, it's basically a sign that anyone can without consequences.
