A major update on a hockey video that started making its rounds on the internet earlier this week.
Coach Speaks After Beating Up Assistant on Camera
The video shows a kids hockey game taking place in Russia. As the camera pans over the arena, it lands on the head coach of one of the team's wailing on his assistant. He was clearly very angry and wasn't pulling any punches. Amid all of this, the kids went back to playing hockey as if nothing had happened.

The coach in the video is Pavel Platonov of HC Krylya Sovetov, who has since released a statement admitting what he did was wrong.
"I was wrong, I did not control my emotions, I gave in to verbal provocation. This happened for the first time in my 10 years of working with children. I want to apologize both to my kids and [to] their parents. I am sorry that I will not be able to continue working with them."
"I would also like to apologize to the sports community for undermining the reputation of my native club and the profession of children's coaching as a whole."
Hockey Coach Gets Fired After Beating Up Assistant at Kids Game
Platonov will not be returning to the team because he's being let go, according to a news release from the team.
"He is currently suspended from work. In the coming days, employment relations with him will be terminated."
