Kessel Considering Signing In Switzerland To Boost NHL Comeback
Kessel has reportedly been staying in game shape in Arizona while he awaits contract offers from NHL clubs. While he has reportedly gotten close to reaching an agreement a couple of times, nothing has materialized yet. As a result, the 36-year-old is reportedly looking into the possibility of playing in Switzerland as a way of getting back up to game speed.
Free-agent Phil Kessel still awaiting an NHL opportunity and that door hasn't closed. But in the meantime, hearing that he's looking into maybe playing some games in Swiss League. Nothing decided yet.

Likely destinations would be Bern and Lugano, both of which are notable for acquiring NHL talent.
Kessel is technically still the active NHL ironman leader with 1064 consecutive games played in the league. However, he has expressed a willingness to end the streak in order to facilitate a new NHL deal.
