BREAKING: Recent Cup Champion Signs in China

A recent Stanley Cup champion decided to pursue his career in China.

Gemel Smith reached a deal with the Kunlun Red Star in the KHL, less than three years after winning a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Smith had previously been playing with the Dynamo Minsk this season, but agreed with the organization to terminate his contract.
