In 13 games this season Chinakhov averages 13:27 time of ice, 12th amongst the Jackets forwards. In those 13 games the young forward only has four points.

The Blue Jackets Depth Chart, That Forces Chinakhov to Fourth Line

On the Blue Jackets depth chart, they have Chinakhov as a third/fourth line forward. With players like Kent Johnson in the AHL and Jordan Dumais also in the system the future of Chinakhov does not look good.

At 22 years of age, Chinakhov is nearing the make it or break it in terms of his career. With the Blue Jackets not giving him a shot in the top 9 at this point a change of scenery may be needed in order to save his career.

The Blue Jackets have found success with other prospects that they have yet to see with Chinakhov. It may be only a matter of days before the two parties go their separate ways.
