According to Elliotte Friedman, the Tampa Bay Lightning have placed goaltender Matt Tomkins on waivers today.

Lettieri (MIN) & Tompkins (TB) on waivers. Vasilevskiy time

The move comes ahead of reports that Andrei Vasilevskiy is set to make his return next week. Placing Tompkins on waivers is a strong indication that Vasilevskiy is not hitting any major roadblocks in the final week of his return.

Tompkins played in 3 games for the Lightning this season, recording 1 win, a 3.4 goals against average, and a .889 save percentage.
