Despite having 8 points in five games this year, Connor McDavid and the Oilers offensive unit have been surprisingly quiet to start the year, and now, they've received terrible news on their captain.

An injury scare

In last night's loss to the Winnipeg Jets, McDavid finished the third period on the bench and missed all of overtime, with many suggesting he'd suffered an injury, and now, the team have confirmed that news.

On Sunday, the team revealed on social media that McDavid suffered an upper body injury and will miss between one and two weeks of action, which will force him to miss several games, including the upcoming heritage classic against the Calgary Flames.

Beyond McDavid, this team has struggled offensively, so now, they will look to find their groove without him, and if they can do that, this will be a dangerous team once he enters the lineup again.
