DeBrincat Addresses Media Ahead of Return to Ottawa
This offseason, many rumours circulated about Alex DeBrincat and how he wanted out of Ottawa. With his quick tenure with the Senators, it looked from the outside like he wanted out. In a recent interview, he addressed the rumours around his trade.
«Over the summer when a lot of that stuff was coming out, » DeBrincat said. «I saw a little bit of it. It is what it is I think. I know what happened behind closed doors and what the situation was. A lot of the stuff coming out wasn't exactly how it played out. It is what it is. They'll write what they want to write. That's fine with me.»
DeBrincat has previously stated that the trade was not initiated by him, however, he did tell Senators management that he didn't want to sign long-term.
DeBrincat Off to Hot Start This Year
Whatever the reason for the trade, it seems to be working out for DeBrincat, as he has started the year off strong with the Red Wings. DeBrincat has 8 points in the first 4 games of the year, with 5 goals and 3 assists.
