In a 5-4 win against the Islanders the Devils lost the services of their captain Nico Hischier, first overall pick in 2017.

Upper body injury for Nico Hischier says Lindy Ruff.

The #NJDevils captain did not come out for the third period.

Hischier left the ice after a hit from Ryan Pulock into the boards.

No details have been releaved concerning the injury, but the Devils are expected to make an announcement in the next few days.
