This offseason, the Boston Bruins had to make a tough decision to let go of arguably their top defenseman Torey Krug. They decided to not negotiate a new deal with the long-time Bruin, even when he was due for a huge pay raise. Instead Krug signed a 7-year, $45.5 million deal with the St. Louis Blues.

A lot of people were unhappy within the Bruins organization, and Charlie McAvoy was one to raise his voice in the departure of his friend.

"Oh man TK was one of the first people who took me under his wing right away from the moment I got there," admitted McAvoy on the Cam and Strick podcast. "We still work out, he's in Boston in the summers and we work out together every day, but he's just an unbelievable guy. Everybody [in St. Louis] is gonna love him... just a great guy. I'm still sad that he's not on our team honestly and definitely sucks and definitely doesn't feel right, like showing up to training camp and he's not gonna be there. It's so wild. I'm going through it now cause it's the first time that we've lost a big piece through free agency.... It sucks, it f***ing sucks man."

McAvoy was hit with his first bad experience in the business side of hockey, as this was the first time that Boston had lost a big piece in quite some time. Many Bruins fans no doubtedly have the same feelings as the young defenseman, and maybe they can find some relief in knowing that they are not alone.
