Retired NHL enforcer and fan favorite all-star John Scott called out the Jets franchise on his podcast recently, where he pointed out their lack of playoff success.
If we look at the same time period, the Capitals have made eight playoff appearances since 2015, all of which were consecutive. They advanced past the first round five times and won the Stanley Cup in 2018. Notably though, the 2018 Stanley Cup finals was the last playoff series the Capitals one. Since then they've made the playoffs four times, losing in the first round each time. Last season the team missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
It seems like even the comparison to the Capitals might be a little bit generous to the Jets. They have had less playoff success than the Caps since 2015 and more importantly, they have no cup championships to fall back on.
