Some terrible luck for the Washington Capitals and on of their defensemen. Joel Edmundson, acquired from the Montreal Canadiens via trade in July, has a broken hand. The team announced he will miss significant time.
"Capitals defenseman Joel Edmundson underwent a procedure on Tuesday to stabilize his fractured hand. Based on the nature of the injury, Edmundson is expected to miss 4-6 weeks." - Washington Capitals

This is the third straight training camp where Edmundson had to miss time due to injury. The last two years, it was due to issues with his back. The 30-year-old is now with his fourth NHL team.
