The Calgary Flames have suffered a potential blow to their Defensive core as Oliver Kylington is now unavailable to participate in the start of Flames Training Camp.
Kylington Unavailable For Training Camp
The Flames have released a statement announcing that Kylington will miss the beginning of Training Camp for Calgary for a personal matter.
Following yesterday's medical and fitness testing, it was determined that Oliver is unable to participate in the opening of training camp today. As this is a private personal matter, no further information will be provided.
Kylington missed the entirety of the 2022-23 season while dealing with a personal matter. Kylington told Swedish Hockey outlet HockeyNews.se that he had been dealing with mental health challenges, and he had been taking the steps to see help.
"I think I deal with the problem like maybe everyone else does, by just sweeping it under the rug and putting the lid on but for my part it led to mental illness and I felt very bad about how I dealt with my problems and almost went into the wall and felt that now it's enough......I needed to face these problems we had as a family and today I am incredibly grateful for this journey I started and then had to finish." - Quote from Kylington in 'HockeyNews', translated from Swedish
In the 2021-22 NHL Season, Kylington had 9 Goals in 31 Points in 73 Games for the Flames. Kylington was a second-round pick, 60th Overall, in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
Do you think the Flames will make the playoffs?
