Some major news came out of Minnesota!
Minnesota Wild add Stepan to Their Front Office
Michael Russo, a reporter, announced that the Wild are going to hire Derek Stepan to work in their organization.
That means that his playing days could officially be over!
"Years of me campaigning for the #mnwild to sign Derek Stepan finally worked. Stepan is shadowing Bill Guerin and the Wild staff and the plan is for him to work with them in some capacity soon. Guerin/Stepan live by each other so they joked it's bring your neighbor to work day."
Stepan played 890 games in the NHL for the Rangers, the Coyotes, the Senators and the Hurricanes. He was drafted in 2008 at the 51st overall pick and scored 515 points in his career.
We don't know yet what kind of role he'll have, but retired players often start as advisors, consultants or scouts.
