The Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators have brokered a trade!
All-Canadian Trade
It was just announced that the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators have made a trade.
TRADE
To Montreal Canadiens
-Jakov Novak
To Ottawa Senators:
-Future Considerations
Novak was originally picked in the 7th round of the 2018 draft by the Senators. He posted 12 points in 35 NCAA games with Northeastern but has better numbers in the ECHL with 12 points in 14 games with the Allen Americans.
He played alongside Canadiens players Jayden Struble and Jordan Harris in university.
This trade is mostly procedural, as it will allow Novak to attend Canadiens camp. He had already signed a one-year AHL deal with the Laval Rocket.
This is the most procedural trade in history. (Novak signed a deal with the Rocket and this will allow him to be in Canadiens camp)
Now, Novak will likely join the Laval Rocket for next season and continue to work on not letting his NHL dream end just yet.
