After a disagreement with management, this former first-round pick has decided to terminate their contract.
Quinton Howden Terminates Deal
Quinton Howden had previously signed a contract with Vasterviks IK in HockeyAllsvenskan, the Swedish second-tier club. However, due to a disagreement with Vasterviks IK management, he has decided to take his talents elsewhere.
"Quinton Howden is leaving Västerviks IK just two months after signing a contract with the second tier Swedish club.
The 31-year-old Olympic bronze medalist reportedly did not agree with management on how he should be deployed." Hockey Worldwide on Instagram said.
Howden's Next Steps
Howden was a former first-round draft pick in 2010 by the Florida Panthers. He has seen some NHL time, playing some games for Florida and Winnipeg before heading to the KHL and then the European Leagues.
Where he ends up this close to the start of the season, that's to be seen.
