Insider Eklund of HockeyBuzz.com has revealed some major news regarding the status of Tyler Myers and the teams interested in trading for him.
Myers would be a big swing for any team he goes to so why are teams targeting him?
Myers, as Eklund mentioned, is quite inconsistent. However, with some structure, the 900-game veteran could prove to be quite valuable.
He is not overly phenomenal offensively but he can lay a massive hit and defend quite well when in position. At 6'8", Myers is one of the largest NHL players in the league.
It is understandable that a team like the Rangers would be interested as he would make a great 1-2 punch with Jacob Trouba. Myers also fits the Florida Panthers' style of play that took them to the finals.
With this many teams interested, it seems like the Canucks would get a haul for the defenseman but because he carries an AAV of $6 million, so he will not get nearly as much as he could.
