One of the newest sensations in the NHL, Trevor Zegras, still isn't under contract for the upcoming season.

The Ducks are aiming to sign him as soon as possible to avoid any potential offer sheets.

Frank Seravalli has provided new information regarding Zegras' situation in Anaheim.

Here's what was reported by Puck Empire:

"The more likely outcome at this point is that the Ducks and star forward Trevor Zegras will agree to a short- to mid-term bridge deal.

Zegras' market value for a long-term deal is estimated around $8M AAV. If this figure doesn't work for either side, a short-term agreement would probably be around $5M AAV." - Frank Seravalli

Opting for a bridge deal presents a risk for the Ducks. Zegras is expected to improve further in the coming seasons, potentially resulting in a higher cost than $8M if he performs exceptionally.

Long-Term?

Any team with a player like Zegras in their lineup would undoubtedly want him for the long haul. His remarkable talent is complemented by his unique personality, making him an exceptional asset.

In a few years, don't be surprised if Zegras leads the Ducks to a Stanley Cup victory and earns other individual trophies.

In the previous season, at just 21 years old, he accumulated 65 points in 81 games. He is particularly renowned for his impressive moves, including the "Zegras Pass" and executing multiple Michigans.
