A month after being arrested in Arizona, the controversial Alex Galchenyuk has already signed a contract.
Galchenyuk Signs in Russia
The forward officially reached a deal with Spartak Moscow in the KHL.
Per Puck Empire:
"Alex Galchenyuk Jr. is signing with Spartak Moscow (KHL)
Galchenyuk Jr., 29, had zero points through 11 games played with the Colorado Avalanche (NHL) last season. He had 16 goals, 42 points through 42 games played with the Colorado Eagles (AHL).
Galchenyuk Jr. was set to play with Arizona in the NHL this season but was released following an incident where he resisted arrest, threatening an officer's family with m*rder, and hurling racial slurs at him."
This comes sooner than expected for many fans and experts.
Galchenyuk was also sued by a bank in Montreal.
At this point, going to Russia is probably his only option if he wants to play pro hockey.
