It was announced just a few moments ago that the Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Jean-Sebastien Dea on waivers for the purpose of a contract termination.
Elliotte Friedman was the first to break the news, but also added some extra context to his original report. It appears as though this termination is mutual, as Dea is headed to play overseas.
Dea was entering the second year of his two-year contract with Arizona.
The Quebec native earned 50 points throughout 67 games with the Tuscon Roadrunners of the AHL this season and went pointless through four games with the Coyotes.
Dea has been a member of six different NHL clubs throughout his nine-year professional career, appearing in just six NHL games over that span. While his destination in Europe is unknown at this time, Dea is likely headed to one of the KHL, SHL, Liiga, or NL.
