TJ Oshie Releases Heartbreaking Statement After the Passing of Former Teammate
Washington Capitals winger TJ Oshie released unfortunate news on his Twitter account July 22nd.
Oshie stated that his old high school teammate and friend Michael Tveit died unexpectedly in his sleep on July 21st.
Old Friends
Oshie and Tveit played hockey together at Warroad High School in Minnesota, where Oshie would start his hockey career which would end up with him becoming an NHL mainstay.
Tveit would end up returning to Warroad High and would become a member of its coaching staff.
According to the GoFundMe page Oshie set up, March 8th 2023 was the 20-year anniversary Oshie and Tveit won the State Championship.
Leaving a Legacy
Michael Tveit leaves behind his wife Darnell and three sons, Carson, Cooper and Cullen.
According to Oshie, Tveit was a teddy bear off the ice, who would fiercely protect his teammates on the ice.
