Vince Dunn emerged as a true top-pairing defenseman in Seattle this season, but his new contract seems a little too rich.

Only Four Years for Dunn?

When giving a player a bridge contract, it is customary for their salary to be a bit lower than their market value.

They can sometimes go for a long-term deal, with a higher salary.

For Vince Dunn, he somehow got both the high salary and the short term.

He has signed a four-year, $29.4-million deal, with an annual average value of $7.35-million.

With similar contracts salary-wise being Quinn Hughes, this deal seems very rich for the Kraken. It is surprising they couldn't get any more term out of the young defenseman.
