NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has revealed that the Tampa Bay Lightning will be extending Tanner Jeannot to a two-year deal.
The Lightning acquired Jeannot at the trade deadline last year after trading away former 1st-round pick Cal Foote, a 2025 1st-round pick, and a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th round pick as well.
In 20 games with the Lightning, Jeannot posted 4 points. 2022-23 was rough for Jeannot seeing him score only 18 points in 76 games. It was a massive step down from his 2021-22 campaign which saw him score 24 goals and 41 points.
This contract will cost the Lightning $2.665 million for the next two years but hopefully will see Jeannot outperform it and live up to what they traded for him.
