Vladimir Tarasenko is no doubt the best free agent left on the market but a major revelation shows he may have not been a few days ago.
Tarasenko Revelations Surface
Today NHL insider David Pagnotta went onto NHL Network to discuss some teams' off-seasons thus far. Of these teams, he discussed, the Carolina Hurricanes were a major talking point, especially Vladimir Tarasenko.
Pagnotta announced that the Hurricanes were ready to sign Tarasenko but at the last moment, he pulled out and switched agents.
The Hurricanes were so confident they were signing Tarasenko that they had prepared a press release to announce the signing but it stalled at the last moment.

Now that Tarasenko is negotiating a new contract, there are a few teams interested.
Of those, contenders like Carolina and the Rangers are still quite interested. However, if he were to sign with a contender, he will likely have to take a pay cut to do so.
There are teams who could pay him a premium but it would mean they are not contending. We could see him go to a team like Chicago if he prioritizes money over winning.
