According to a new report by Elliotte Friedman, Anaheim and New York are now in on DeBrincat, as well as the obvious suitors, Detroit. The Ducks and Islanders have been more aggressive lately, and it looks like a deal might be getting close.
While Anaheim and New York are intriguing options for the young sniper, we shouldn't count out Detroit just yet.
Friedman went on to add that Detroit is likely closer to a deal than most people think.
Most of this relies on the ability of the team and DeBrincat's agent to get a deal done. If a contract cannot be reached between the two sides prior to the trade being made, then a trade likely won't happen.
It will be interesting to watch this unfold in the near future.
