Russian Hockey Player Arrested for Espionnage
The global situation in Russia is only getting worse and something related to hockey happened that we thought was worth sharing.
Russians Spying Through Hockey
It was reported on the newspaper Reuters that Poland is detaining a Russian hockey player on accounts of spying. This is the 14th person to be arrested in that network.
An anonymous player for a first division Polish team was taken into custody.
The Russia considers Poland to be a great target, as they supply ammunitions to Ukraine. Now, Moscow is accused of trying to destabilize the country.
Huge Consequences
Polands' Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro made a declaration about the events on Twitter:
«Russian spies are falling in one by one! A spy who acted under the guise of an athlete was caught. The Russian was a player of a first division club.»
The spy could face 10 years in prison. He is suspected of indentifying important infrastructure in Poland and receiving payment for it.
