Flyers shut down their facility for a secret meeting ahead of NHL Draft
The Flyers wanted to make sure they were able to get their guy in the 2023 NHL draft and they took top security measures to ensure that happens.
Flyers Conducted Secret Meetings With Michkov
There has not been a more polarizing prospect than Matvei Michkov. The undeniable talent rivals Connor Bedard's but the Russian factor is off the charts with Michkov.
However, the Flyers did their homework to ensure that they are taking a good bet when drafting Michkov. Leading up to the draft, the Flyers held secret meetings with Michkov to make sure he wanted to play in Philly and they clearly got the sense he wanted to play for them.
The Flyers got a premier talent in Michkov who could one day be the best player from this draft if he pans out. While he could probably play in the NHL right now, he will have to wait for three years before coming to North America.
