Dylan Larkin's trade picture has narrowed sharply, leaving Todd McLellan and the Red Wings staring at one reported destination.
Minnesota is now the lone team remaining in the mix from Larkin's reported list after two other potential landing spots backed away.
According to Michael Russo on The Sheet, the Vegas Golden Knights and Florida Panthers currently don't have interest in pursuing the Detroit captain.
That leaves the Minnesota Wild standing alone, at least among the clubs Larkin has reportedly been willing to consider.
It's a major shift in leverage. Detroit can explore a move, but a limited list of approved destinations can quickly squeeze the market if Larkin controls where he's willing to go.

For the Wild, the fit is easy to understand. Larkin would give John Hynes another established top-six center capable of driving pace, carrying the puck through the neutral zone and handling heavy offensive minutes.
For Detroit, the situation is more complicated. A trade involving its captain was always going to require a return strong enough to justify a major change inside the locker room.
A one-team market can make that tougher. Minnesota knows Detroit's options have narrowed, while Larkin's reported preference gives the Wild more control over how far negotiations can move.
That doesn't guarantee a trade. It does put far more attention on Minnesota if talks between Larkin and Detroit continue heading toward a split.
The biggest question now isn't which contender jumps into the race. It's whether Minnesota decides the price is worth paying when there may be nobody left to bid against.
