Another year has come and gone and Alex Mogilny is still on the outside looking in to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
The superstar Russian forward is considered to be one of the best players in the 1990's.
Mogilny is one of the very few NHLers to tally 70 goals in a season when he scored 76 in the 1992-1993 season.

But this was not enough for the Hall of Fame who passed him over yet again in favor of Henrik Lundkqvist, Mike Vernon, Tom Barrasso, Caroline Ouellette, Pierre Turgeon, Ken Hitchcock, and Pierre Lacroix.
But is there an ulterior motive behind Mogilny's continued snubs?
The Russian Factor
Pittsburgh Penguins Broadcaster Rob Rossi dropped a bomb after it was revealed that Mogilny would not make the Hall of Fame yet again.
Due to Russia's ongoing war in Ukraine, the geopolitical climate makes it very hard to include and support Russian hockey players.
A proposed World Cup of Hockey featuring NHL players was postponed indefinitely after the NHL and NHLPA were unsure whether to include Russian NHLers.
Rossi clarified who his source was regarding his information.
Fans Upset
Hockey fans are not happy about Mogilny's exclusion and are not hesitating to express their frustration on Twitter.
Uncertain Future
With Russia's War in Ukraine having no clear end in site, and if Rossi's information is correct, its hard to see when a player like Alex Mogilny ever gets elected into the Hall of Fame.
Another question is, if a player like
Evgeni Malkin and Alex Ovechkin are eligible for the Hall of Fame, will their induction gets postponed due to the war?
Only the Hockey Hall of Fame has those answers.
