Worrying Update on Matthew Tkachuk's Status for Game Five
Matthew Tkachuk was clearly battling an injury in the third period of game four and now his status for game five is unclear.
Tkachuk's Troubling Status Update
Matt Tkachuk has arguably been the best player of the 2023 NHL playoffs. Him, Bobrovsky, and Eichel are the clear top performers in the finals. However, he has been limited recently due to apparent injuries.
In game three, Vegas forward Keegan Kolesar laid this hit on Tkachuk:
He landed awkwardly on his shoulder and it is widely believed this has affected his play.
In game four, he played only a couple of shifts in the third period clearly nursing an injury. Despite this, he still showed up on the stat sheet but not by registering a point but rather by penalty minutes.
Tkachuk was recently asked on if he will be playing in game five and his response was troubling for Panthers fans.
It will be interesting to see if Tkachuk plays in game five. With the Panthers' season on the line, I would be surprised if he misses the game given his tough nature.
