Shane Doan was the face of the Arizona Coyotes organization for most of his career and now looks to continue his career by leaving the Coyotes organization.
Leafs Hire Doan as Assistant GM
Throughout his NHL career, Shane Doan played over 1500 games all with the Arizona Coyotes organization. After retiring, he went into their front office and the Coyotes even drafted his son Josh Doan. However, he is deciding to leave Arizona for the first time in his career.
NHL insider Kevin Weekes announced today that Doan would be joining the Leafs:
Doan previously worked with Leafs GM Brad Treliving when Treliving was an Assistant GM in Arizona. Leaving the Coyotes organization could be a sign that Doan senses that the Coyotes may be going belly up soon and is getting out before anything big happens.
