The Detroit Red Wings' goaltender situation isn't ideal. They are looking for a true number one goalie, and the latest rumors indicate that they have found him.
Hellebuyck in Detroit?
Hellebuyck is a great goaltender, but things in Winnipeg aren't working out. Even if they have a good team, they still can't compete with the league's top guns.
A trade proposition was made by The Sun.
As reported on Twitter by The Grind Line Podcast:
"The Sun proposed trade would send Ville Husso, the Red Wings' no. 9 pick in the upcoming NHL draft, plus prospect Marco Kasper to Winnipeg for Hellebuyck."
This is a big package to acquire the goalie. If the Wings are willing to do it, they would acquire a top goaltender for a long time. But in order to do so, they would need to send off a lot of talent to the Jets.
Would you make that trade?
